pH value

Wool blankets and natural hair blankets are washed and fulled. At the end of the washing process, the soap is rinsed out of the fabric several times and, at the end of the process, the pH value is adjusted to the acidic range using natural acetic acid.

Wool feels most comfortable in the isoionic range (slightly acidic) at pH 5.5 and is optimally set in this range for further mechanical or thermal processing.

Furthermore, the slightly acidic setting of the goods helps to reduce the formation of bacteria during the wet processing of the fabric. The wet goods should be dried within 3 days.

Neutral: PH 7.0

Slightly acidic: PH 5.5

According to GOTS (Global Organic Standard), a pH value of 4.5-7.5 is specified for textiles.
