Qualitative assessment of blankets and natural hair blankets.
Assessment of wool blankets and natural fiber blankets:
1. Blankets should not shed lint or hair. Make sure that the blanket's surface does not shed during normal use.
2. Durability in use. Make sure that the blanket's surface remains attractive. Plaids and blankets are sometimes only napped, without being sheared, for cost reasons.
What does the surface look like after some time in use? Does the surface become unsightly or tend to pill if you run your hands over it a few times with light pressure?
3. Reach into the blanket with your hands. If the blanket leaves a noticeably oily film on your hands, it is likely to have been treated with a softening agent. Judge for yourself whether you like this. However, this is not grounds for a complaint.
4. Trust your nose. Smell the blanket. If the blanket smells unpleasant,
it's best to avoid it.

If you are comparing blankets from different suppliers.
Do not do this on paper. Lay both blankets next to each other and compare both qualities.
Compare both blanket qualities in terms of: weight, softness, suppleness, surface texture, volume, price, and statement.
You will come to astonishing results.
